History and background

Nyamatsatse High School, a Christian Mission institute wholly owned by the Congregation of Apostolic Ministries Church (CAM)  is located  in Shamva District, Mashonaland Central Province of Zimbabwe. It is roughly located about 40km away from the town of Bindura, the provincial capital for Mashonaland Central Province. It opened its doors to the public in 2016. as a boarding school for both boys and girls.

Initially, Nyamatsatse School first came into existence as a brainchild of members of the Chiororo Resettlement community who started developing the school well before the involvement of the church. The church only took over the project after members of the local community had disagreed amongst themselves and abandoned the project. However, by the time when the community left the project, the only notable development was a classroom block that they were building which was still to reach window level.

Nevertheless, before CAM’s involvement with the Nyamatsatse project, they were working on another one to develop Chipadze Farm Secondary School. It was when they were trying to develop that project that a certain Mr Chigede and his companions ordered them to stop all developments and move out of the area completely. It was only after Mr Chigede came back to his senses that he decided to invite CAM to work on their project again. However, instead of taking CAM to its Chipadze Farm project,  he took them to Chiororo Resettlement area where he asked them to develop the abandoned Nyamatsatse School project. Agreements were then entered into and CAM paid for the work which had been done  was done before the taking over with the money distributed between Chevakadzi Secondary School  and Chemhondoro Secondary schools which became the new projects of the community.  Thus, the Nyamatsatse project was born.

When the first intake was made in 2016, Rev. Munyangadzi was the man in charge of the school as its principal. However, as CAM is continuing to grow as an education provider in Zimbabwe, the Reverend Munyangadzi was promoted to the position of Superintendent of all schools under CAM. Mr T. Bosha is the man who has been earmarked to take over at Nyamatsatse when Rev Munyangadzi eventually departs to assume his new role. At the present moment, as part of his preparation for the challenge ahead of him, Mr T Bosha has been understudying the Rev Munyangadzi.
